Gardaí have seized a firearm and arrested one man following a search operation in Dublin 11 on Saturday, February 3, 2024.
At approximately 5pm this Saturday afternoon, Gardaí attached to the Blanchardstown District Drugs Unit conducted the search of a residence in Finglas, Dublin 11.
During the course of the search a Makarov semi-automatic firearm was seized by Gardaí, along with 13 rounds of ammunition and a silencer.
One man, in his 40s, was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda station in West Dublin.
The seized items are subject to analysis by the Ballistics Section of the Garda National Technical Bureau.
Investigations are ongoing.
