National: Motorist faces court for driving under insurance policy cancelled after ONE day

A driver is facing court after being caught driving under an insurance policy which was cancelled after one day. 

According to An Garda Síochána, the Clare Roads Policing Unit were on patrol when they were alerted to an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) notification. 

The insurance disc on the car reportedly looked "fine", however the insurance database confirmed the policy was cancelled a day after it was taken out. 

The car was then seized.
