Gardaí have arrested three people following the seizure of "offensive weapons" during a car search in Longford on Sunday night.
At around 11.45pm on Sunday night, gardaí stopped and searched a car on the Athlone Road, Ballymahon, Longford.
Three males, two aged in their 20s and a juvenile, were arrested at the scene and were detained at a Garda Station in Co Longford under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 in relation to the seizure.
All three males have since been charged and are due to appear before Longford District Court this morning (Tuesday, May 14) at 10.30am.
A garda spokesperson said that investigations into this seizure are ongoing.
