Firefighters are currently at the scene where a car has caught fire near the southbound Junction 5 exit of the M50.
Major delays are expected, as the left and middle lanes of the M50 were blocked for some time due to the car fire near the Finglas junction.
Smoke was seen blowing across both sides of the motorway. It is not yet known if there are any injuries from the fire.
Southbound delays of as long as 60 minutes are expected from Northern Cross, as well as northbound delays of 50 minutes from J12 (Firhouse).
Dublin Fire Brigade has advised drivers to use alternative routes.
