Man dead at scene of assault in Dublin as gardaí rush to house and make arrest
A man has died in a suspected fatal assault in Co Dublin.
Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the man in his late 40s following an incident in Lucan, Co. Dublin.
"Shortly after 8am this morning, Monday 28th October, 2024 Gardaí were alerted to an incident at a residential property at Old Bridge Park, Lucan. A male in his late 40s was found inside the property and was pronounced deceased at the scene," a statement read.
"One male, aged in his 20s has been arrested and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in West Dublin.
"The Coroner has been notified and the services of the Garda Technical Bureau and State Pathologist have been requested. A Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Lucan Garda Station. A Family Liaison Officer (FLO) will be appointed to support the deceased’s family.

"The scene has been preserved for a forensic and technical examination and a post-mortem examination has been arranged.
"Investigations ongoing."
