The two off duty Gardaí were assaulted in Temple Bar in the early hours of Saturday
The outgoing Taoiseach, Simon Harris, and Tánaiste Micheál Martin have shared their thoughts following two off duty Gardaí were victims of an alleged serious assault on the early hours of Saturday morning, the 14th of December 2024.
The incident took place at approximately 1:30 am on Saturday morning at the junction of Dame Street and Euston Street, Dublin 2.

Taoiseach Simon Harris took to his social media to share his thoughts following the incident:
"My thoughts are with the off duty Gardai who were victims of an alarming & agregious attack in Temple Bar last night, one of who remains in hospital. The perpetrators of this attack will face the full rigours of the law. Anyone with information, please contact An Garda Siochana."
So to did Tánaiste, Micheál Martin:
"Appalled by the unprovoked and brutal attack on two off duty gardai in Temple Bar in the early hours of this morning.
My thoughts are with both men and their families, especially the Garda who remains in hospital.
I urge anyone with information to contact Gardai."
