A representative of Hanna Hats of Donegal thanked the show and Tourism Ireland “for shining such a bright light on Donegal” after the popular Donegal Town shop was featured in NBC’s Today Show in a special Irish-themed broadcast.

The Irish-themed live broadcast was filmed in Kenmare, Kerry, on October 16, and was attended by Daithi Ward and Eleanor Hanna of Hanna Hats of Donegal as well as Margaret Rose Cunningham of the Glencolmcille Folk Village.

An average audience of around 2.9 million viewers watches the Today Show each morning, bringing the Donegal Town company in front of a huge audience.

Eric Roberts, who is also from Donegal and works as an Ireland AM presenter, was also involved in the special Irish broadcast.

The segment involving Hanna Hats of Donegal involved Keir Simmons, the Chief International Correspondent for the Today Show.

Daithi Ward said: “I was delighted to travel to the stunning Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare with Eleanor Hanna and Hanna Hats of Donegal to watch NBC TV’s Today Show broadcast live from Ireland.

“It was brilliant to see the work Tourism Ireland put into showcasing the very best of our country, from the Causeway Coast all the way down the Wild Atlantic Way.

“The show visited Hanna Hats of Donegal for a segment, which was a fantastic moment for our team, and it was great to see Margaret Rose Cunningham from Glencolmcille Folk Village also featured. Seeing the anchors wearing our caps live on NBC was a real highlight!

“A huge thank you to Tourism Ireland and to the Today Show team, including Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Carson Daly, Dylan Dreyer, Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones, for shining such a bright light on Donegal and Ireland.”
