An investigation is underway into a burglary that took place in McCreary's Topline Crossroads, Killygordon.
At approximately 4:39am this morning, a number of men gained entry to a yard adjacent to the business and caused extensive damage to the building.
The Crime Prevention Officer for Donegal, Sergant Paul Wallace, said that gardaí were quickly on the scene and investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to a small dark coloured car which was spotted in the area at the time.
Srg. Wallace said that the alarm system quickly alerted gardaí to the situation on Monday morning and he urged all businesses to review their alarm system and the capabilities of their alarm.
"A proper alarm system can make all the difference," he said.
Meanwhile, Fianna Fáil councillor, Patrick McGowan has said that more gardaí are needed in the area.
