Power cuts in Donegal as strong winds hit the county

Hundreds of homes and businesses across Donegal are without electricity as strong winds lead to power cuts.

In the wider Carndonagh area, two separate faults have left 155 premises without power.

Kerrykeel and Milford have also been hit, with 309 customers affected.

In Derrybeg, there are 160 premises currently without power, and 32 in the Fintown area.

ESB Networks crews are battling the elements to restore service as soon as possible.

Power has already been restored to 246 customers in the Kilcar / Glencolmcille area.

With falling trees and branches, people are reminded that fallen electricity wires are live and dangerous.

The message from ESB Networks is: "Never approach or touch them. Call our emergency service immediately on
1800 372 999 (+353 21 2382410), 999 or 112."
