There is much sadness at the death of Gerry Keown, Belleek, and long-serving staff member of the Mill Park Hotel in Donegal Town.

Mr Keown of Carnmore, Roscor, Belleek, County Fermanagh died following a tragic incident at premises in the Lisahully area of Ballyshannon last Wednesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and an investigation launched by the Health and Safety Authority.

Funeral Mass took place on Monday at St John the Baptist Church, Toura, County Fermanagh, after which Mr Keown was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.

He is mourned by his beloved family - his wife Marie and son Jason, sister Mary (Tony), brother Patrick (Breege), his extended family circle, former colleagues and his many friends.

Tributes

Tributes were led by the team at the Mill Park Hotel.

A spokesperson said: “It is with shock and great sadness that we share the sudden passing of our dear colleague and friend, Gerry Keown.

“Gerry was a valued member of our maintenance team from September 2002 until his retirement in September 2024.
