Jason Quigley will be back in the ring the ring in 2023 with the Finn Valley middleweight insisting: “The show's not over!"

Quigley hasn’t fought since his 2021 defeat by Demetrius Andrade for the NABO world middleweight title.

The Ballybofey man wants a place on a possible Irish card headlined by Katie Taylor.

A Croke Park card led Taylor is currently being negotiated and Quigley is back in training as he eyes up a return bout.

“One hundred per cent I’ll be back in the ring this year,” Quigley told Kevin Byrne on The Rocky Road podcast. You can listen to the full episode featuring Quigley and Ken Egan here

“We’ve the head down and we’re working away and we’re going to get a date hopefully very soon.

“It would be good to get a fight now before Croke Park, if it comes off.

“The show’s not over — there’s another chapter or two left.”

Quigley is 19-2 as a professional and it is coming on ten years since he last fought in Ireland – a win over Rachid Hamai from France on May 5, 2013 at the National Stadium.

The 31-year-old has won the NA BF and NABO middleweight titles since ditching the amateur vest and in 2021 landed a crack at Adrade.

The Ballybofey man has worked with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom and fought on DAZN previously so it seems an easy fit.

Late in 2022, Hearn name checked Quigley when discussing possible boxers for a Taylor card.

Quigley said: “There’s the Croke Park thing coming up, it would be unbelievable, once that gets the green light — and hopefully very shortly that will get the green light.

“I have boxed with DAZN and I have boxed with Matchroom many times, obviously more recently.

“My last couple of fights have been all DAZN and Matchroom so it would be a no brainer to be on the Croke Park card.

“Look, it’s been over a year now since my last fight so I would love to — and I definitely will — have a fight before Croke Park as well.”
