Mark English won a top class 800m in Madrid on Wednesday evening.
The Finn Valley man finished in 1:46.57.
English led the way from Spain’s Pablo Sanchez-Valladares, who crossed the line in a new personal best of 1:46.83.
Great Britain’s Kyle Langford - fourth in the 2017 World Championships - was third in 1:46.93.
English, who won his ninth Irish senior indoor title on Sunday, is preparing for the European Indoor Championships, which begin in Istanbul next week.
The Letterkenny native’s time in Madrid equalled his second best ever indoor time.
The World Athletics Continental Tour gold level meet was held at the Gallur Municipal Sports Centre.
