Inishowen RFC to celebrate 50th anniversary for Junior Men's Interpro

Inishowen RFC will host Ulster against Munster Junior Men's Interpro at their grounds at Moss Road, Carndonagh, on Saturday May 6th in what is expected to attract huge support.

The club saw off stiff competition from more established clubs across Ulster to be selected as preferred hosts.

''On this, our club's 50th anniversary, we are delighted to welcome the cream of the crop of players from junior clubs across Ulster and Munster,' said Inishowen RFC President Anne Scott.

The ever-growing interest in Irish rugby at an International level has certainly attracted more players and supporters from minis to youth levels in Inishowen. In recent years the club have seen a number of rising stars compete at the highest levels within the Province in U-16s and U-18s.

First team player Stephen Callaghan represented Ulster at both U-16 and U-18 levels and U-16s player Erin McConalogue is currently in Ulster U-18s and was selected for Ulster U-16s Sevens programme.

To mark the 50th anniversary the club will officially open their changing rooms on match day. The President of Ulster Rugby Philip Gregg and past Ulster legends will be amongst those in attendance to share in the celebrations.

A number of North West players have been selected on the Ulster side for this year's Interpro series. Letterkenny RFC man Adam Bratton is the sole player from Donegal, while City of Derry have two players named in vice-captain Stephen Corr and Davey Graham.

As Ireland's most northerly club Inishowen RFC look forward to welcoming first time visitors to Inishowen and showcasing the wonderful attractions our Peninsula has to offer. Gates open at 1:30pm and kick off is at 2:30pm. There will be a barbeque, refreshments and entertainment for all the family.
