Mark English clocked a season's best time in France on Wednesday evening.
The Finn Valley AC man finished seventh over 800m at Meeting de Montreuil.
English crossed the line in 1:46.53 in a race won by Algerian Djamel Sedjati in 1:44.27.
French pair Azeddine Habz (1:45.15) and Yanis Meziane (1:45.68) were second and third.
The meeting at the Stade Jean-Delbert in Montreuil, in the eastern suburbs of Paris, was a World Athletics Continental Tour silver level event.
In early May, English finished seventh at the Diamond League in Doha in a time of 1:48.56 after illness had forced the four-time European medallist to withdraw from the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul
