Raphoe Boxing Club’s two-time Irish champion Taylor Parke is set to travel to Poland for a training camp with an Ireland squad next month.
The Glenmaquin man, who has won Boy 3 and Junior Cadet crowns this year, has been in training with the High Performance squad in recent weeks,
Now, Parke has been named to travel to Poland for a ten-day camp from August 8-18.
Full male and female teams have been selected for the trip, which would be Parke’s first with an Irish squad.
The Royal and Prior student defeated Calvin Stokes from Olympic BC to land the Boy 3 35kgs title in April.
Last month, Donnacha Beagan of Sean Dorans was defeated in the National Junior Cadet final at the same weight.
Although Parke lost out recently to Walsall Wood’s Hayden Cooper in the schoolboy 38kgs final at the William Wallace Box Cup, the ‘Blonde Bomber’ has been in fine fettle and will be eager to impress in the Irish vest.
