Conan Kearney with his opponent Pat Corcoran.
Conan Kearney bowed out of the National Senior Cadet Championships on Friday night.
The St Bridget’s Clonmany puncher was beaten by Pat Corcoran in a 66kgs semi-final at the National Stadium.
Galway man Corcoran proved too strong for Kearney, taking a 4-1 split decision victory.
Kearney, the Irish Boy 2 56kgs champion in 2021 and a recent gold medallist at the William Wallace Box Cup in Scotland, had won two fights last weekend.
Kearney defeated Gareth McCann and Tony Moran to book his place in the last four.
Defeat for the Inishowen boxer means Donegal’s involvement in these Championships ends without a winner.
