Rathmullan jockey McAteer hit a 21/1 double.
Aboard the Pat Foley-trained Special Wan, McAteer had over three lengths to spare on the 100/30 shot.
Prominent early, McAteer shook Special Wan into gear two furlongs from home and romped home with ease.
McAteer followed up by winning the Clayton Hotel Leopardstown Maiden. In the saddle of Teorie, Jim Bolger’s 4/1 chance, McAteer edged out Tommy Thug, ridden by Browne-McMonagle.
McAteer had almost a length of a winning margin having got away swiftly at the outset.
At Newbury on Friday, having jetted over to England, Browne-McMonagle guided Night Sparkle to victory. Browne-McMonagle won by a neck on Michael O’Callaghan’s ride, sent off at 9/2,
