Katie-George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal celebrate bronze in Glasgow.
Katie-George Dunlevy added the latest world medal of her glittering career on Friday in Glasgow.
Dunlevy, whose father John is a native of Mountcharles, was back alongside Eve McCrystal and the pair won bronze in the women’s tandem at the 2023 UCI and Para-Cycling World Championship.
At the Emirates Arena, Dunlevy and McCrystal came out on top in the bronze medal ride. The Irish duo saw off France when finishing in a time of 3:28.792 - 0.409 seconds quicker than their opponents.
"I'm emotional, really really relieved. I was just so nervous going into that race," said Dunlevy.
"We didn't have a great ride the other day and we were working on a few things yesterday in the 1km (time trial).
“We were just trying to deliver what we did yesterday today. We just fought to the line and we were able to get that bronze medal. I can't quite believe it really."
At the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, the pair won gold in the time trial and the road race.
They were reunited in Glasgow after missing the 2022 Para-cycling Track World Championships.
