The late Billy Broderick was a former chairman of Killybegs GAA Club
The first event at this weekend’s annual Killybegs Summer Festival will be a memorial 5k run and walk in memory of former Killybegs GAA club member and chairman Billy Broderick.
Billy passed away last December and the first staging of the event will take place on Friday at 5:30pm. Registration will take place beforehand from 4:45pm to 5:20pm at the Bay View Hotel.
"To those in the town and beyond, Billy was an avid runner and could often be seen running along Donegal Road,” Killybegs GAA posted. “The 5K run and walk is an incredibly fitting way to pay tribute to such an important member of our community. Everyone is welcome of all abilities. Best of luck to all and to everyone organizing the festival, sure to be a great weekend.”
