Donegal Town postman Paddy McCrudden got his first overall win at last weekend's Davagh Forest Rally.
McCrudden was on the notes with Strabane’s Jason Mitchell in a VW Polo R5.
Having switched to IN Sport the crew had a busy few weekend's having done the two-day Rally and headed straight to Cork with the car changing to gravel spec in a few hours to do the Jim Walsh Forest Rally.
The recent time certainly had a positive effect in achieving the crew’s first overall win.
They had 26.1 seconds to spare on Jordan Hone and Paul Hone, also in a VW Polo R5.
Donegal Town’s Liam McIntyre was fourth overall as navigator to Niall Devine, while John McElhinney was eighth overall, sitting with Paul Britton.
In ninth overall were the all-Donegal crew of David Kelly and Dean O’Sullivan in a Lancer Evo.
Convoy’s Jack Harris has made the jump from a J1000 to a Ford Fiesta R2 and he hasn’t stopped since he got his new car. Jack went straight to the Davagh Forest Rally on Saturday in gravel spec and this weekend has an entry in for the Knockalla Hill Climb.
In the RSA Summer Series there was again strong Donegal interest with another great showing from younger drivers.
In class 1, James McShea came second in his Micra. Class 12 was where all the action was in the Mini Class. Patrick McShane won the class and next was Matthew Kennedy, coming eighth overall but second in the Mini Junior Cup.
Daniel McShane was third in the Junior Mini Cup followed by Daithi Kennedy in fourth with Eunan and Josephine Kennedy finishing further down the field.
