Mark English finished eighth in an 800m in Italy on Wednesday evening.
Finn Valley AC runner English finished in 1:46.64 at the Palio Citta' della Quercia in Rovereto.
After the first lap of the Stadio Quercia, English was in fifth and was well in the hunt until the final 60m.
Italian Catalin Tecuceanu won in 1:45.25 with Spanish pair Javier Miron (1:45.29) and Mohamed Attaoui (1:45.70) second and third.

At the recent World Athletics Championships in Budapest, English clocked a season’s best 1:45.14 to finish seventh in his semi-final.
In his heat, the Letterkenny native clocked what was then a season’s best time of 1:45.71 to finish fourth despite being bumped by Jamaican athlete Navasky Anderson during the first lap.
