Kathryn McDevitt fifth in European Masters 200m final

The Letterkenny AC woman will also be in 400m and 4x100m relay action in Pescara, Italy

Kathryn McDevitt soars into 200m final at European Masters

Kathryn McDevitt finished fifth in Sunday’s W40 200m final at the European Masters Athletics Championships in Italy.

The Letterkenny AC woman clocked 27.03 seconds in the final in Pescara.

Having roared into the final with an excellent 26.75-second semi-final the previous day, McDevitt lined up in lane eight in the final.

Singh Florence Haenssler from Germany won in 25.71 seconds with Poland’s Aneta Grot second (25.82) and Italy’s Serena Caravelli third (26.03).

McDevitt will also compete in the 400m and 4x100m and will be in action in both on Monday.

Earlier this year, at the World Masters Indoor Championships in Poland, McDevitt and Ireland were the bronze medalists in the 4x200m relay.

Last year, she helped Ireland to gold in the W40 4x100m and 4x400m at the 2022 World Masters Athletics Championship in Finland.
