Oisín Ó Gailín clocked a new Donegal indoor 5,000m record at the weekend.
The Finn Valley AC man was competing at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener hosted by Boston University.
Ó Gailín surged late to pip victory in his heat in 13:49.61, edging Leo Young (13:49.71) and Joseph O’Brien (13:51.24).
Ó Gailín dedicated his new PB to the memory of his grandfather, Patrick (Patsy) Kelly, of Upper Teevickmoy, Stranorlar, who died last Tuesday.
In October, Ó Gailín set a new course record over 5k outdoors when going 14:21 at Colorado State University.
