On Saturday last, the Donegal Open 2023 was held in Jackson's Hotel, Ballybofey with over 150 players entered in the youths, ladies and men's open events.

The standard was very high from the very start of all competitions. In the men's competition,  Derry's Gavin Carlin was back to his best when he won the competition for a third time after he beat Donegal's Alan Hegarty in a very close affair when the first four legs went against the throw but Gavin stepped up his game and eventually won 7-4.
