Dylan Browne McMonagle started 2024 in fine style Down Under riding Dublin Journal to victory at Flemington.

The Donegal jockey has now ridden 11 winners in total, since late November, during his stint in Australia.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed winning rides of the likes of the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable as well as the Hayes brothers and Mike Moroney.

“It’s been very, very good, I can’t really fault it to be honest,” said the Letterkenny jockey.

“From the second I got here, I’ve been made very welcome, enjoyed every minute of it, had plenty of success and that definitely helps.

“I’ve been part of a great team in Ciaron and David’s, they provided plenty of horses for me to ride and everyone in the team’s been a big help.”
