Dunfanaghy Boxing Club’s Conor Durning, an Irish Youth champion in 2023, will be among the lead protagonists from Donegal heading for the National Stadium.

On Friday night at the National Stadium, Durning squares up to Clonard’s Jamie Graham in a 57kgs preliminary bout. The winner is slated to meet Galway’s Jamie McDonagh in a quarter-final.

Last year, Durning defeated Mullingar puncher Jack McNamara to land the Irish Youth 2 57kgs title.

Also at 57kgs, Raphoe BC’s Ryley Doherty will clash with Liam Carroll of Setanta in a quarter-final on Saturday evening.

In a 63.5kgs preliminary bout, Jack McElroy of Raphoe faces Athlone’s Christy Joyce and Carndonagh’s Kieran Cunningham has been paired with Charlie Valsbergs from Cherry Orchard in a 71kgs preliminary round fight.

Twin Towns’ Joey O’Hara has been drawn against Star of the Sea man Danny Tsui in a middleweight quarter-final with his Twin Towns colleague Lani Lafferty meeting Kyla Doyle from Whitechurch in a 66kgs semi-final next weekend.

In total, almost 150 boxers from 88 clubs will contest the tournament.
