Sommer Lecky
Sommer Lecky went beyond 1.80m in an encouraging outing in France at the weekend.
The Finn Valley AC woman finished third in the women’s high jump at the Meeting Indoor Nantes Metropole on Saturday.
Lecky took bronze when clearing the bar at 1.81m at the World Athletics World Indoor Tour bronze level meet.
At the Stadium Pierre-Quinon in Nantes, Tatiana Gusin from Greece won with Sweden’s Ellen Ekholm leaving with the silver.
Each cleared a season’s best of 1.85m with Lecky’s 1.81 also representing a season’s best.
The Castlederg native is a former World U20 silver and Commonwealth Youth Games gold medal winner.
Earlier in January, Lecky won the Loughborough Indoor Open when going over at 1.72m.
