There was no joy for Donegal jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle on his return to Australia on Saturday.

The Lettekenny rider made a quick return Down Under to compete in the lucrative $2 million Inglis Millennium 1100m race at Randwick. However, Fully Lit would smash his rivals to arrive first past the post with McMonagle, onboard Odison, coming home in seventh.

Speaking after, McMonagle said: “He has run well. I wanted to stay in the straight in the middle but it didn't work out that way”.

McMonagle has enjoyed himself in Australia where he secured an impressive tally of six victories over the festive season.
