Finn Valley AC's Roisin Flanagan has been added to the Ireland team for the 2024 World Indoor Championships.

Flanagan will compete in Glasgow after being re-allocated a quota spot in the 'Road to Glasgow' ratings.

The 26-year-old will compete in the 3000m.

The Championships take place from March 1-3 at the Commonwealth Arena.

Previously, Flanagan competed at the 2022 European Championships and finished 14th in the women's 5000m while her twin sister Eilish competed in the Olympic Games in Tokyo in the 3000m steeplechase.

Flanagan will jet across the Atlantic from her base in the United States, where she is coached by Damon Martin, having recently set a new Irish indoor record over two miles.

At the Millrose Games in New York, Flanagan finished 12th in 9:36.70, shaving a massive chunk off the previous national best of 10:43.33, set by Ailish Hawkins in Boston last March.

A measure of the competition for Flanagan was the European record of 9:04.84 set by race winner Laura Muir.
