Jayden McBrearty at Mondello Park on Friday
Killybegs youngster Jayden McBrearty finished third in the 2024 Mondello Park Junior MINI Challenge Scholarship.
McBrearty took part in the assessments on Friday.
TJ Taffe from Louth took victory with the 14-year-old now set to get the use of a fully prepared 1.6 Junior MINI race car for the 2024 race season.
The victor will also take receipt of a supply of Nankang Tyres, and all entry and test fees at Mondello Park.
A total of 21 participants attended and McBrearty was third, finishing behind Leo Richardson.
For his part, McBrearty also receives free testing for the season, again courtesy of Mondello Park.
Competitors were assessed by the Mondello Park team on track in race saloon cars and subsequently on the Mondello Park Virtual Race Academy simulators.
They also underwent a media interview by Alan Heary.
