Ann-Marie McGlynn was first home in the Streets of Portlaoise 5K on Sunday morning.
The Letterkenny AC woman finished the race in a time of 16:19 to add to a host of recent successes.
McGlynn, originally from Mucklagh, Co Offaly, and now living in Strabane, Co Tyrone, won her first National Marathon Championship title last October. She soared to victory in an excellent 2 hours, 34 minutes and 13 seconds. Then, in December, she was the leading woman in the Jingle Bells 5k, hosted by Donore Harriers when she scorched to victory in 15 minutes and 56 seconds in the Phoenix Park.
Last year, she was part of the Irish women's team to take bronze at the Spar European Cross Country Championships at La Mandria Park in Italy and in August 2022, she represented Ireland in the European Marathon Championships
Earlier this month, at Alley Arts Theatre and Conference Centre, Strabane, McGlynn was awarded a Mayoral Reception, by the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Patricia Logue.
