Two first round stoppages led Illies Golden Gloves' Roisin Hegarty to her second Irish title at the weekend.

Hegarty blitzed her way to the Girl 2 57kgs title at the National Stadium – one of four Donegal girls scooping a national crown.

Hegarty's Illies Golden Gloves club-mate Cassie Lynch and Convoy BC's Isabella Iwanek also won finals with Carrigart BC's Tegan McCarron claiming a title via walkover.

Hegarty was in no mood to hang around much on the famous old canvas of the National Stadium.

Barely had Hegarty ducked through the ropes, but she was having her hand raised.

In Saturday's Girl 2 57kgs final, Hegarty stopped Rihlee May Cox from the Gateway BC in Sligo inside the first round.

With Hegarty well in command, the referee called a halt to proceedings.

In her semi-final, Hegarty also won inside the opening stanza. Hegarty defeated Ellie Blight from Mulhuddart in the semi, which also didn't go to the end of its first round.

Last year, the Letterkenny woman won the Girl 1 51kgs title thanks to an inside-the-distance win, stopping Michaela O'Brien from Ratoath.

It was like the old one about the buses for the Illies Golden Gloves contingent as a second title soon followed.

Lynch was crowned the Girl 2 43kgs champion. Lynch earned a unanimous decision from the judges in her final clash with Tipperary Town's Diana Hutchinson.

Lynch booked her place in the final thanks to a narrow 3-2 split decision win over Enniscorthy's Sophie Fortune.

On Friday night, Iwanek impressively blazed her way to the Girl 1 55kgs title. Iwanek stopped East Meath's Paris McDonagh in the final.

In doing so, Iwanek created a little nugget of history as the first female boxer from the Convoy club to win an Irish title.

McCarron landed the Girl 1 75+kgs title via a walkover to take another Irish crown back to the Carrigart BC dynasty.

Carrigart's Abbie Harkin lost out to Abbey Molloy of the Dublin-based Sacred Heart BC in a Junior 1 46kgs semi-final.
