Kilcar Basketball Club’s U-16s had too much for Donegal Town on Saturday to lift the county title in some style.
In what was a thrilling display of skill and determination, from the very start it was clear that both teams were hungry for victory.
Kilcar took an early lead with Dáire Byrne showcasing his scoring prowess, contributing eight points to his team’s tally.
As the game progressed into the second period, Kilcar continued to dominate the court. Michael Gallagher emerged as a key player for the away side.
By the end of the third period, Kilcar had firmly established their dominance with a score of 41-22. Despite the valiant efforts of Donegal Town, led by Byran Drzewiecki and Stefan Skender, the away team’s lead proved insurmountable.
In the final period, Kilcar maintained their composure and secured a convincing victory with a final score of 52-29.
Kilcar captain Corey O’Donnell made a significant contribution with 5 points, including a remarkable three-pointer.
Despite their best efforts, Donegal Town struggled to match the visiting team’s intensity. Stefan Skender led the home side’s scoring efforts with 11 points, while Bryan Drzewiecki and Lee Gallagher fought hard but fell short.
