Redcastle navigator Darren Curran tasted overall victory at the Carrick Forestry Rally in Tipperary on Sunday.

Curran was calling the pace notes for Derek Mackarel from Clones and the pair took victory in the Ford Fiesta R5.

They were 20.6 seconds ahead of Jordan Hone and Paul Hone, also in a Ford Fiesta R5.

Frosses driver Ryan MacHugh had a class victory, tasting victory in class 2 and finishing eighth in the overall standings.

MacHugh, in a Ford Fiesta Rally 4 and with Arthur Kierans in the navigator's chair, was second in the two-wheel drive category. McHugh was fasted of the class 2 cars on five of the six stages and was fastest two-wheel drive on SS3.

Letterkenny father and son duo Fabian and Oisin McShane were fastest in the Junior 1000 category, competing in a VW Up.

Pettigo's Dylan Eves was second in class 2 in a Fiesta while Donegal crew Donal Connolly and Danny McLaughlin won class 12 in their Mk2 Escort with navigator Conal Doherty 13th overall and winning class 20 alongside Barry Murphy from Wexford in an Evo 9.
