Declan Gallagher in his Toyota Starlet
Ardara driver Declan Gallagher alongside co-driver John McCarthy took victory on the Germaine's of Baltinglass Garda Síochána Motor Club Mini Stages Rally at the weekend.
'The Milkman' in his Toyota Starlet was fastest on four of the event's six stages and came home with 42.4 seconds to spare Jason Black and Karl Egan, who were also in a Starlet.
Gartan’s Mark Alcorn, in his Ford Escort, with James McNulty on notes finished in third spot.
Speaking after, Gallagher said the run was good preparation for the Donegal International later in the month.
"It's good seat time, “ he explained. "We were a bit edgy here in the morning, but we settled in then and put new tyres on for the middle loop, and the rain came down for the last loop.
“I can't thank John enough, he played a blinder on the notes. We had a great day and it's a great rally, it was well ran."
