Callum Devine
At High Glen, reigning Donegal International Rally champion Callum Devine lost further ground on Matt Edwards as the Derry man stalled after a spin - losing a further 13 seconds to his rival.
Edwards was the fastest over the stage with a time of 6 minutes 01.2 seconds with Devine further back on 6 minutes 13 seconds. In third remains Cathal McCourt on 6 minutes 06.5 seconds.
“We’re having a great run," said McCourt. "We’re still here and happy with that fact. There is jump there towards the end some are mentioning but it was the gravel we were looking at.
“To be fair to Matt and Callum, they are in a race of their own now. We’ll just try to keep these other lads off our tails. We’re half way through but there is a long way to go yet”.
The battle thereafter, from fourth to sixth, includes Meirion Evans (6 minutes 4.5 seconds), Josh Moffett (6 minutes 4.8 seconds) and David Kelly ( 6 minutes 04.6 seconds), and that trio are split by just 0.3 seconds.
In the two-wheel drive category Kevin Gallagher is still out in front with a 34-second lead now held over Declan Gallagher - with the reigning modified champion adding three seconds over High Glen.
