Team Ireland's Olympic journey garners 3.4 million RTÉ viewers

In total, 3.4 million people followed the record-breaking journey of Team Ireland's 133 athletes in Paris. RTÉ Player recorded 7.2 million streams of the Olympic Games between 24th July and 11th August.

The 64 women and 69 men represented Ireland across 14 sports, securing seven medals, and achieving personal and seasonal bests.

Kellie Harrington's gold medal win in the women's 60kg boxing final attracted RTÉ's highest viewership, with 1.4 million people tuning in.

Rashidat Adeleke's 400m final and the women's 400m relay team which Kelly McGrory was a member of in the semi-final each garnered nearly 1 million views.

Monday’s live homecoming broadcast on RTÉ One from O’Connell Street drew an average audience of over 200,000, with 43,000 streams recorded on RTÉ Player so far.
