As always with Onóir, this was a fantastic performance and a wonderful celebration of the best of Irish  and international folk music.

The band took to social media afterwards to show their appreciation to the audience, saying: “Thank you to the mighty people of Kilcar for an amazing show this weekend! It’s always a blast and the very best of luck to The Áislann Centre in the hospitality awards!”

Next up for Onóir is a debut performance at one of the top venues in the country.

“The biggest show of our career to date this day next week in The National Concert Hall Dublin,” continued the spokesperson.

“The show is about to sell-out. What an honour it is to get onto that stage for the first time. It’s gonna be a great night. See everyone on Sunday!”

Onóir first came together in August of 2020, when four Donegal-based musicians, Tom McHugh, Declan Gaughan, Deane Connaghan, and Diarmaid McGee, joined forces to create a contemporary version of the famous Irish folk ballad ‘The Auld Triangle.’

The video went viral, and over the course of the Covid-19 pandemic, the band released several more videos to the same reaction - and the realisation dawned that there was a big demand for their exquisite goosebump-inducing harmonies and arrangements.

Onóir's 2026 Brotherhood tour takes the band to theatres across Ireland, The UK, Europe, and also to North American in June and November. In between more than 100 shows in 2026, the group are in the studio finishing off their second album.

Their self-titled, debut album was released in 2024 and is available to purchase via the Onóir Bandcamp page.
