Bernard Flynn, who was the overall winner in 2023, in action on the Knockalla Course last year
The annual Danny Gormley Memorial Hillclimb is set to take place on September 7 and 8 on the iconic Knockalla Course, and this year, the event promises to be even more thrilling for participants.
The Donegal Motorclub has announced an impressive prize list for the J1000 crews who will be competing in the two-day speed event. The Hillclimb is part of the increasingly popular Motorsport Ireland J1000 series, which has seen record participation across Ireland in both Forest and Tarmac sprints this year.
In a significant announcement, the Donegal Motorclub revealed that they will once again feature on the calendar for the Irish Forest Championship in 2025.
To celebrate this return, all junior J1000 entrants participating in both days of the Hillclimb will be entered into a draw for a free entry into the 2025 Donegal Forest Rally. This is a highly coveted opportunity for young drivers, offering them valuable experience on closed roads ahead of their final round in Clare Forestry.
In addition to the free entry, several other prizes will be awarded, further enhancing the appeal of this year's event.
The initiative is designed to provide junior competitors with additional kilometres of experience, helping them develop their skills in a competitive environment.
The Donegal Motorclub's commitment to supporting the next generation of rally drivers is evident in these generous offerings, which are sure to attract a strong field of young talent to the Knockalla Course this September.
