Donegal rally driver Ryan MacHugh
Donegal driver Ryan MacHugh, along with his navigator Arthur Kierans, achieved one of the most significant results of MacHugh’s career by securing seventh place in the RC4 category at Rally Ceredigion, held in Wales over the weekend.
The event, which is part of both the British Rally Championship and the European Rally Championship, was won overall by Australian pairing Hayden Paddon and John Kennard in their Hyundai i20.
MacHugh's performance also earned him victory in the Junior British Championship category, marking his second win of the season.
Meanwhile, Kyle McBride and Darragh Mullen, competing in a Corsa for the first time, finished in third place.
Elsewhere, Donegal’s Eamonn Kelly had a strong showing in the ERC3 Category, leading the field by the end of the day. Unfortunately, he was forced to retire on Stage 11.
In the Galway Stages Rally, Donegal driver Declan Boyle had a solid weekend, finishing sixth overall in his new Skoda Rally 2. Kevin Gallagher and co-driver Ryan Moore faced challenges in the modified section, spending much of the weekend in sixth place, but they managed to climb back up to finish third in their category.
