Rachael Darragh made a winning return to the court after her Olympic Games experience.
The Raphoe woman helped Team Skaelskor Slagelse Kommune to a fine opening win in the Danish Badminton League.
Darragh's victory in a women's singles match came in a 9-0 win for Team Skaelskor Slagelse Kommune against Aalborg Triton.
Darragh overcame Laerke Thomsen in a pulsating contest. Darragh came from behind to claim an impressive 21-19 16-21 19-21 win.
At the Olympic Games in Paris – the Raphoe Badminton Club ace's first time at the five-ring show – Darragh suffered an agonising defeat to Jenjira Stadelmann. Darragh pushed the European Games bronze medallist all the way before losing out 21-13 22-24 15-21 to the Swiss player at the Porte de la Chapelle Arena.
Darragh also lost out to 5-21 5-21 badminton legend Carolina Marin, the Spaniard who won gold at the 2016 Olympics.
