Cartha Boyle claimed victory in the first South West Donegal Darts tournament of the season at Kilcar House, defeating defending champion John Meencha 5-1.

Boyle, a runner-up in this event in 2021, showcased impressive form throughout the evening, reflecting his recent selection for the Irish darts panel.

In this double-in, double-out format, originally hosted at Big Francie’s in Ardara in 2012, Meencha secured the first leg. Boyle responded with a 110 checkout to equalise, followed by a 108 start to take the lead at 2-1, ultimately sealing the win with a 68 checkout.

Declan Quinn and James Byrne (Carrick) reached the semi-finals, finishing just one point behind the finalists in the round-robin stage.
