Kevin Gallagher took the modified section win in the Harvest Rally
It was the perfect end to an almost perfect season for Rathmullen driver Kevin Gallagher with his first place modified section finish in the Donegal Harvest Rally.
Gallagher, and his co-driver Ryan Moore in a Darrian T90 GTR, finished in seventh place over all and also won his class in the Border Rally championship.
The win in the Modified section means he clinched the National Modified Championship on what was a good overall day out for the Donegal crew.
“We had a good enough year and apart from the Donegal Rally we had a clean year all round and we had a trouble-free run today,” Gallagher said afterwards.
“We established a good early lead which meant we could take it handy through the latter stages.
“It is nice when you put in the work and do the rallies to win the National Modified. It is a reward for the work of the whole team and myself and Ryan and it is a good end to what has been a good year.
“We are very happy too with the seventh place overall finish and to be up there competing with the big boys.”
Gallagher is another of the drivers that gave the thumbs up to the Ramelton town stage and described it as a good addition to the rally.
