It’s been an extraordinary period Letterkenny jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle who has landed 11 wins since the start of the month, and with us only halfway through October, no doubt there are more to come.
It’s been an amazing year for the young jockey who has gone from strength to strength in recent years.
His first-place result started in Cork on October 1, when he rode Joseph Patrick O’Brien’s Wemightakedlongway home at 9/2 in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF.
He followed this up the next day with victories in Bellewstown on board The Poacher Daly, Baltray Lady, and Prairie Angel.
Killarney was next on the list the following week when he sailed home on board O’Brien’s Castanets at 9/3, before moving onto Thurles last Thursday when he finished first in the Horse & Jockey Maidin on board Soul of Spain.
After securing two wins during Thursday evening’s meeting in Dundalk, before capturing two wins in Naas and two in Roscommon, the Donegal man has now tallied 11 wins in the last 15 days.
His last win to this date came on Monday night in Roscommon when he powered home on Prairie Angel.
It’s been a really successful journey for the 21-year-old jockey who was just 16 when riding his first winner as an apprentice on the O'Brien-trained Jumellea at Navan in 2019.
