Jayden McElhinney, who has only been karting for just over a year, finished third in the Ulster Karting Championship.

A third class pupil at Ray NS in Manor, he has been raising eyebrows in championship races held at the likes of Nutts Corner, Athboy, Whiteriver and Pallas Karting Centre.

A son of Kelvin and Clara McElhinney, he was in action last weekend in round 8 of the Championship.

At Nutts Corner, Jayden, who races for the DMS team, won all of his races and will be officially presented with his third-place Championship finish at the annual awards function next month.
