Katie-George Dunlevy, alongside her pilots Eve McCrystal and Linda Kelly, took home the Team of the Year award at the Irish Times Sportswoman of the Year awards.

This follows on from the pair winning the RTÉ Sports Team of the Year last week.

In Paris, Dunlevy took home a gold and a silver medal alongside her new pilot Kelly, and a silver with long-time partner McCrystal. She subsequently won two world championship golds in Zurich alongside Kelly.

Speaking at the event McCrystal said: "It’s been so rewarding working in a team, to finish my career with a silver, we have no velodrome yet, then we’ll go for the gold."

Dunlevy and Kelly also scooped the award for the month of September.

Meanwhile, even before Mona McSharry became the second Irish swimmer to win an Olympic medal, her name was on the monthly list of winners for the month of February.

On returning from her strong performance at the World Aquatics Championships in February, she became the second woman in history to break the 56-second mark in a 100m breaststroke medley relay. Then came that magical moment in Paris when she took bronze in the 100m breaststroke.

She says she went on a road trip for a few months in America after the Olympics, enjoying her break from the pool. She now plans to get ready for the world championships and the collegiate season.
