Mark English is slated for his first competitive outing of 2025 this weekend.
The Finn Valley AC athlete is on the start list for a race in Nantes, France on Saturday.
The 31-year-old, a four-time European medallist, is lined up for Metting de Nantes Metropole, a World Athletics Indoor Tour bronze level meet.
Yanis Meziane of France, the European U23 gold medalist in 2023, is among the others on the start list ar Stadium Pierre-Quinon.
Last summer, Letterkenny native English reached the 800m semi-finals.
After clocking 1:45.15 in his heat – his fastest ever Olympic time – English was sixth in his semi, finishing in 1:45.98, trailing off in the closing stages having led the way with 200m to go.
English has spent time at a training camp in South Africa recently ahead of a year that has championships at World at European level to go for.

Finn Valley AC high jumper Sommer Lecky is also among the entries for the meeting in Nantes.
