Twin Towns boxer Caoimhin Connolly
Twin Towns Boxing Club flyweight Caoimhin Connolly will fight for Ireland next week.
The flyweight has been confirmed as part of an Irish youth squad that will face France and India in two internationals.
Connolly will face a yet-to-be-announced Indian opponent in a 48kgs contest at Holy Family Boxing Club in Drogheda on Friday, March 28.
The Irish squad for the Drogheda card is managed by Jim Gorman.
Earlier this month, Connolly claimed a victory on a youth international bill at the Guildhall in Derry when he defeated Harley Salinger from the Sacred Heart BC in Dublin in a support bout to an Ireland v Wales international.
This latest bout will represent Connolly’s first official international vest.
In January, Connolly overcame Kurt Kinsella to land the National Youth 48kgs title at the National Stadium.
Previously, Connolly won gold at the 2024 William Wallace Box Cup in Scotland and he took the Billy ’Spider’ Kelly Cup for the best youth at the 2024 County Donegal Boxing Board Awards having taken the award for most improved boxer 12 months earlier.
