Joseph Kelly (inset) on his way to taking a fine win in Carlisle
Mountcharles rally driver Joseph Kelly took a landmark victory on Saturday.
Kelly, in his Peugeot 208 Rally4, took victory at the Kielder Carlisle Stages Rally.
The 21-year-old led the charge in his class through the five stages.
Kelly was the leading competitor in the latest round of the Stellantis Cup series, which is now in its second season.
In the overall placings, Kelly was 20th and he was the leading competitor in the Junior British Rally Championship category.
Kelly had fellow Mountcharles man James McBrearty calling the notes.
Through the Kielder Forest, they were on form through the Ash Park, Kershope, Chirdonhead and two runs of Buck Fell stages.
This was the BRC’s first visit to the daunting venue since 2019.
Back in 2022, Kelly won the 2022 FIA Celtic Rally Trophy and began in a Toyota Aygo, moving to take part in the Junior British Rally Championship in a Fiesta R2T before taking control of the now trusted 208.
