Jamie Meehan has moved up to second place overall in the Rás Tailteann, one ahead of Odhran Doogan.
With one day to go, the lead is now held by George Kimber from the Isle of Man following a dramatic stage four.
Kimber went clear with Irish duo - Meehan, who is a native of Mountcharles, and Dean Harvey - from Ennis, Co Clare, into Mountrath, Co Laois, with just under 15k to go on the 128km fourth stage.
Meehan came home in second on the stage, in the same time as the stage winner, with Harvey just two seconds behind. Doogan rolled in some 28 seconds behind, in 14th on the day.
Overall, Kimber will go into the last stage leading the two Donegal men. Meehan is in second place, five seconds behind and Doogan, from Gortahork, is 22 off the lead with one day left. The final stage is 142k, mostly flat, from Kildare Town to Bective, Co Meath.
